Our Integrated Planning team is engaged in projects and activities that facilitate integrated planning practices towards more sustainable urban mobility. For over ten years we have been working in the area of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) and have helped to create a strong showcase for a new planning culture for European cities and regions. We have helped create a significant knowledge base that is freely available to practitioners worldwide. SUMP also opens up the possibility for urban governance and planning processes to integrate regional transport networks such as the Trans-European transport network (TEN-T) in order to ease the burden of traffic on urban areas and to improve connectivity. Integrated planning approaches are also becoming more and more relevant for emerging and developing countries aiming to tackle increasing motorisation and negative impacts of transport movements.
