SmartMove sorgt für mehr ÖPNV-Fahrten im Kreis Euskirchen

Um Mobilitätsalternativen zum Pkw im ländlichen Raum zu stärken, startete der VRS im Februar 2014 im Kreis Euskirchen in den Kommunen Kall, Hellenthal, Schleiden und Bad Münstereifel eine aktive ÖPNV-Beratung. Das Angebot im Rahmen des EU-Projekts „SmartMove“ ist nun beendet worden und zeigt erstaunlich positive Ergebnisse. 90 Prozent der Interviewten fühlten sich hinterher insgesamt besser informiert, 46 Prozent – im Gegensatz zu vorherigen 19 Prozent – kennen nun den TaxiBus und in den „SmartMove-Kommunen“ wurden zwischen Januar 2015 und Januar 2016 ganze 15 Prozent mehr Fahrten per TaxiBus unternommen.Im Projekt arbeiteten verschiedene Verkehrsunternehmen, Verkehrsverbünde und Universitäten in Europa unter der Federführung der Universität für Bodenkultur Wien zusammen. Weitere Informationen finden Sie hier.

Stakeholder meeting in Zotermeer to discuss the development of the urban node Rotterdam

On July 1st, stakeholders from the national, regional and local level and the urban nodes consortium met to discuss how Rotterdam as an urban node should develop. Purpose of the meeting was the test of a methodology to assess different measures and projects planned for the region. Panteia provided an online consultation tool to facilitate the group discussion on which projects are most important and should be prioritised in order to improve the efficiency of the regional transport system.

Our trainee programme includes project management assistance, support in developing new EU research projects, participation in analytical work, and event organisation. FLOW presented at the European Conference on Mobility Management in Athens

Bonnie Fenton from Rupprecht Consult presented the FLOW project at the European Conference on Mobility Management in Athens, Greece on 3 June 2016. The conference attracted practitioners and decision makers from across Europe and featured Tim Papandreou, Director of the Office of Innovation at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Maria Vassilakou, Deputy Mayor of the City of Vienna. There was strong interest in FLOW’s claim that the transportation benefits of walking and cycling need to be emphasised and measured along with the economic, health and environmental benefits. Particular interest was shown in FLOW’s Market Forerunners component, which brings together consultants who work with transport modelling tools to demonstrate the need for accurate and appropriate inclusion of cyclists and pedestrians in transport modelling tools so that they are accurately represented in the outcomes of modelling activities. For more information on the FLOW Market [...]
