New project started: ÖPNV Modellregion Hannover

We happily announce that Region Hannover was chosen to be one of 12 model projects for strengthening public transport in Germany and will receive funding of almost 30 Mio. € over the next 3 years to realize their vision of becoming a model region for sustainable and attractive public transport. The project aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector by building a strong and attractive public transport and builds on the “Zehn-Punkte Programm zur Verkehrswende” of Hannover.

Over the last two years Rupprecht Consult supported Region Hannover in their proposal process and we will continue by carrying out the project monitoring in the next three years and supporting them further in their role as project manager.

In February the Modellregion Hannover successfully held their virtual kick-off meeting. The Modellregion is funded as one of 12 model projects for strengthening public transport in Germany. The funds will be distributed on the following five sub-projects:

• Attractive, flexible and cost-effective on-demand service for the Region Hannover
• Intermodal route chains through digitalisation of P+R facilities and development of mobility stations into intelligent and convenient transfer points
• Mobility for all - use of digital offers to develop a demand-oriented comfort system for passengers
• Public transport post-Corona package to attract and retain customers
• Public transport transformation in the real laboratory Hannover Region: knowledge management, communication and data integration

We are looking forward to a successful cooperation and implementation of the project goals in the next three years.
