German translation of SUMP guidelines and further material now available!

28.04.2021

Check out the new German translations of the SUMP Guidelines, the Decision maker's summary and the SUMP poster.

The 2nd edition of the SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan) guidelines was made available to cities worldwide in 2019. Meanwhile, many national institutions have been working to translate the guidelines into their language – to make them even easier to use and to establish the concept of SUMPs in their own country. One of those countries is Germany. The CC-SUM (Centre of Competence for Sustainable Urban Mobility – State of Hessen) has been working intensively on disseminating the SUMP concept within and across the state of Hessen, supporting cities and municipalities in the development of a SUMP. CC-SUM coordinates various projects in the field of sustainable transport planning and thus generates knowledge resources and support services for Hessian municipalities. One example is the Interreg Europe project e-smartec (enhanced sustainable mobility with marketing techniques). You can find an overview of the activities of the CC-SUM on the <link https: www.fznum-hessen.de external-link-new-window external link in new>FZ-NUM website. In this context, the FZ-NUM have translated the core <link https: www.eltis.org sites default files german_sump_guidelines_high_quality.pdf external-link-new-window external link in new>SUMP guidelines and the <link https: www.eltis.org sites default files german_sump_decision_makers_summary_high_quality.pdf external-link-new-window external link in new>SUMP decision-maker’s Summary into German. These two central documents are complemented with a German version of the <link https: www.eltis.org sites default files sump_poster-german-2021-rgb.pdf external-link-new-window external link in new>SUMP poster. German decision-makers and planners are now supported even better in applying the concept of SUMP and establishing integrated planning practices.
