AC-DatEP aims to measure traffic flow and many other environmental parameters in real time in the Aachen region to create an open data pool and to enable combination and enrichment with other available data. Based on this data, different use cases will be developed together with citizens in several innovation workshops. Already during the project duration, the data will be made available for use online.

The aim of the project is to enter the collected data into an open-data basis, which can then be enriched with existing data sets and made accessible to third parties. The data pool created in this way has the potential to form the basis for many exciting utilization concepts. Start-ups as well as established stakeholders will be given the opportunity to work with the data and test new business models as well as planning and mobility concepts already during the project period.
Rupprecht Consult accompanies the development of the data measurement and monitoring concept, the innovation processes as well as the development of the use cases from a planning perspective and takes the lead in the development of a roadmap for data-based structural change in lignite regions by summarizing the relevant results of the innovation process and the use cases in a guideline for data-based integrated mobility planning and coordinating a utilization strategy for the surrounding area. By involving the surrounding regions, the perspectives of the city of Aachen and the surrounding communities will be brought together in order to sustainably shape commuter relations, among other things.
