In November the second workshop of the Aachen data project AC-DatEp took place. This time, under the topic of environmental data for urban and mobility planning, participants came together to generate and collect ideas for possible use cases that will be further developed in the project.
The focus of this workshop was to determine how real time collection of environmental data can be utilized and what are possible benefits for urban and mobility planning activities. Together with the project partners FH Aachen, City of Aachen, 4 Traffic SET, cityscaper and Rupprecht Consult, and external partners various ideas and use cases were examined and a practical use for the collected data was explored. In total more than 50 potential use cases could be identified and the results are diverse and cover a wide range of areas - from urban planning, control and monitoring to climate-based routing and ideas for improving quality of life and health.
In the further course of the project, the consortium will decide which of the collected use cases are suitable for practical use and can actually be implemented.
