Together with 47 partners from across Europe, we are excited to begin #DISCOprojectEU, as a part of the European Union’s Horizon research and innovation program.
Organised by FIT in Brussels, the 2-day kick off meeting aligned all partners towards the joint goal of building a new generation of data oriented urban logistics and planning model. The project will demonstrate strategies through 8 Living Labs -- which will be co-developed and interconnected through physical internet led actions.
The 2 days offered the consortium a platform to exchange ideas to build upon the vision of the project. At the onset, the Living Labs will focus upon building individual strategies defined within five focus areas - street space management, urban space utilisation, multi-purpose use of buildings, multimodal bays, and smart data collection.
We at Rupprecht Consult, will support the Living Labs in risk assessment and mitigation. Along with that, we will be participating in communication and dissemination, strengthening stakeholder engagement and developing policy packages to re-think scaling paths for the future. In particular, we will be creating a knowledge hub for innovation uptake and capacity building.
We are looking forward to the next 42 months with the partners in facilitating a digital transition in urban logistics and planning.
