TIDE workshop on selection of innovative urban mobility measures

05.12.2012

The TIDE project gathered more than 60 participants from all over Europe for a workshop to discuss the potential of innovative urban mobility measures for urban areas. The workshop took place on 28 November 2012 in Perugia, Italy, and was a pre-event to the annual Polis conference.

The event brought together all five TIDE cities, other project partners and over 30 other stakeholders to discuss and share their plans for developing and implementing innovative measures in five different thematic clusters:1) financing models and pricing measures,2) non-motorised transport,3) network and traffic management to support traveller information,4) electric vehicles,5) public transport organisation. Many ideas were exchanged between cities and other stakeholders to identify the most interesting innovative measures for practitioners. The workshop results will feed a process to determine a set of 15 innovative mobility measures that will be examined in detail and widely promoted within TIDE.At the workshop also the upcoming call to apply as TIDE Champion City was presented. It will invite cities that are not already participating to work on implementation scenarios for selected innovative measures. Each Champion City will receive a 21,000 EUR grant. Further details on the call will be announced on 17th December 2012 on the <link http: tide-innovation.eu>TIDE website .
