Summer University of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning in Palma de Malllorca, Spain!

The first DYN@MO Summer University will take place in June, on the topic "Emerging in a dynamic dialogue for Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP)."

On behalf of CIVITAS DYN@MO and the University of the Balearic Islands, the first Summer University will take place between June 26th and 28th in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The theme of the event is: "Engaging in a dynamic dialogue for Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP)." During the three day event, participants will enjoy presentations and round table discussions about different EU member states varied experiences with SUMP. Participants will be invited to engage in a series of small group discussions, workshops, practical excercises and field trips showcasing the various mobility measures throughout the city of Palma. The first day will focus on European SUMP experience and participants will work on major SUMP challenges, such as vision building, stakeholder participation and evaluation. During the second day, the experiences from Spanish cities will be discussed in plenary sessions and working groups. A round table for dynamic dialogue with stakeholders and a site visit will provide participants with a practical insight into planning and developing sustainable mobility measures. On the third day, participants will train in specific steps of the SUMP cycle through selected workshops. The target groups of the Summer University are students and young professionals, as well as mid-career employees and selected decision makers working towards sustainable urban mobility. The university partners, competence centers and measure leaders of the CIVITAS DYN@MO project will provide the content of the courses. In addition, international experts will also contribute to the Summer University´s program. In order to make the events accesible to Spanish speaking participants, the university will provide simultaneous translations for the first plenary day. The main language during the second and third days will be Spanish.
