SmartMove Kick-off Meeting in Vienna

24.04.2014

Rupprecht Consult were very pleased to attend the SmartMove kick-off meeting in Vienna on 8th and 9th April, hosted by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU - Universität für Bodenkultur, Wien).

The meeting provided the opportunity for project partners to present the eight rural and peripheral areas where Active Mobility Consultancy (AMC) campaigns are to be established and trialled during the course of the project. A diverse range of geographical settings with differing levels of existing transport infrastructure, within the project implementation areas of Portugal, Spain, Germany, Greece, Austria and Poland, will ensure that the AMC concept is tested in a variety of contexts. During discussions it also became apparent that a number of different public transport feeder systems are in place in different areas, providing for beneficial exchange of experience. Susanne Böhler-Baedecker and Tim Durant presented the training concept being developed by Rupprecht Consult, which will include: Training Seminars for project implementing partners; Take-up Seminars to disseminate project knowledge and findings to a greater number of public authorities and transport operators; and e-learning online courses that will be made available for all on the SmartMove website. The first Training Seminar is scheduled to take place in June 2014.
