SAVE THE DATE: ELIPTIC-Workshop on thermal management in electric buses on 5th December 2017

27.09.2017

How do we want to heat electric buses? Large batteries or diesel through the rear door?

Venue: Swiss Hotel, Hillmannplatz 20, 28195 Bremen, Raum Zürich 2 NB: The workshop is held in German "How should we heat electric buses?" - no profane question. While the engine's waste heat could be used for the diesel bus, waste heat is not available to the same extent in the electric bus.

Heating (and air conditioning) consume considerable amounts of energy, which must be taken into account in the overall concept of the bus. There are different conceptual approaches ranging from the purely electrical solution to the additional diesel heating system. The advantages and disadvantages of the respective concept have to be considered. The goal can neither be the transport of unnecessary battery capacities for the majority of the year, nor the "zero emission concept" by fossil fuels. What are reasonable solutions from the point of view of operators, donors, and authorities responsible for air pollution control?

The workshop is aimed at local public transport companies, service providers and emission control authorities.Contact and Registration
