The AUGMENTED CCAM partners met in the first Pan-European Workshop titled ‘No-regret Investments of Physical, Digital and Communication Infrastructure for CCAM’ in Riga on the 13th of September.
On-site demonstration: We had the opportunity to visit the Latvian Test Site (i.e., Biķernieki Racetrack, Riga), a hub for innovative solution development for various stakeholders. During our visit, we witnessed live implementations of physical and digital infrastructure, which emphasized their role in various Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) use cases. Two automated vehicle demonstrators along with Road-Side Unit (RSU) were present at the forefront displaying connected and automated mobility features on the racetrack.
The on-site demonstration was accompanied with presentations from partners (i.e., LVC, EDI and LMT). This was followed by presentations focusing on various topics such as C-Roads, role of CCAM in Seamless Multimodal Transport and role of communications as a CCAM enabler.
The workshop was part of AUGMENTED CCAM, a Horizon Europe project, which aims to understand, harmonize and evaluate innovative Physical, Digital and Communication (PDC) infrastructure support solutions. This would advance its readiness for large scale deployment of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) solutions for all. You can read more about the project here.
