Final SUMP Guidelines released

18.12.2013

The Guidelines on Developing and Implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, written by Rupprecht Consult, were released on 17 December 2013 in conjunction with the official announcement of the European Commission’s Urban Mobility Package.

The European Commission announced the <link http: ec.europa.eu transport themes urban ump_en.htm _blank>Urban Mobility Package to reinforce its support for urban transport. The official EC Communication <link http: ec.europa.eu transport themes urban ump_en.htm _blank>"Together towards competitive and resource efficient urban mobility“ prominently mentions and supports the concept of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans and provides a direct link to the SUMP Guidelines. A <link http: ec.europa.eu transport themes urban doc ump _blank>five-page annex dedicated to the concept of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans annex complements the EC Communication. The SUMP Guidelines are the result of a consultative process involving close to 200 urban mobility experts from all over Europe. Rupprecht Consult has coordinated this process and is proud to see the results published in the context of this EC Communication. The now final version of the SUMP Guidelines replaces the 2011 working document.
