E-mobility strategy of City of Rostock ready for Council decision

30.01.2015

By means of an electric mobility strategy and an action plan, the Hanseatic City of Rostock pursues a coordinated expansion of its previous e-mobility activities and the long-term establishment of e-mobility in the city and the region.

The thirty-page strategy on electric mobility, complemented by an action plan comprising more than twenty e-mobility measures, has been finalised this week after those stakeholders who will be involved in the implementation undertook a first review of the document. The e-mobility strategy and action plan will be presented to the Rostock Council for approval as the next step. With a time horizon until 2030, the Hanseatic City of Rostock sets a strategic frame for electric mobility for the first time, which has, in particular, been aligned with the aims and provisions of the Mobility Plan Future.  The electric mobility strategy is intended to activate further municipal, private sector and political actors to get involved in the local introduction and continuation of electric mobility and thus to contribute jointly to a more ecologically sound and economically efficient transport system.Rupprecht Consult colleagues Dr. Wolfgang Backhaus and Miriam Lindenau have advised the Hanseatic City of Rostock in the strategy development process and have completed the document together with Rostock's project steering group "e-mobility". Photo: Rostocker Straßenbahn AG/ Pedelec rental system “elros“
