On October 16-17, 2024, we proudly hosted the DISCO Project consortium meeting at our offices in Cologne, bringing together Europe’s leaders in sustainable urban logistics.
On October 16-17, 2024, the DISCO Project held a pivotal consortium meeting in Cologne, Germany, hosted by Rupprecht Consult. DISCO’s partners gathered for two days of dynamic discussions and strategic collaboration to advance sustainable urban logistics across Europe.
We at Rupprecht Consult were honoured to host this meeting at our premises, showcasing our commitment to advancing sustainable urban logistics initiatives in Europe and beyond. Our director, Wolfgang Backhaus, warmly welcomed the DISCO partners and highlighted crucial points and linkages between DISCO, the EU Cities Mission, and #NetZeroCities.
Key highlights included inspiring keynotes from the Impact Creation Board for Transformation (ICBT), featuring experts like Anne Goodchild of Urban Freight Lab and Thomas Osdoba from NetZeroCities EU. Their insights provided valuable perspectives on urban logistics and open-source innovation. The meeting also honoured standout achievements from DISCO Starring Living Labs teams, with awards going to Copenhagen, Ghent, Thessaloniki, and Helsinki.
This gathering also facilitated knowledge transfer between Starring and Twinning Living Labs to scale DISCO’s solutions to new cities. DISCO, a 42-month project co-funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe program, is pioneering a Physical Internet-led approach to revolutionize urban logistics and promote sustainable city planning across Europe.
A huge shoutout to our DISCO organising team, including Katy Huaylla, Hassan Hussin, Srikar Nouduri, and Saja Adasi, who ensured the meeting was a success.
Stay tuned for more updates as DISCO drives innovation for decarbonized, digital cities!
