Student Assistant UX Development for our learning platform Mobility Academy (m/f/d)

Who are we looking for?

You are currently in a degree program related to UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, ideally in the last semesters of the degree, but already have some professional experience through internships or similar activities. You have a basic understanding of UX design principles and an eagerness to learn and grow in this area. You have basic skills in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD is a plus. If you are interested in developing online platforms, user-friendly interfaces, or other tools, and you want to contribute with your skills, then you are in the right place with us.

What will you do?

To develop further our Moodle-based learning platform Mobility Academy, we are looking for a UX development student assistant. Your tasks will include:

- Support Rupprecht Consult’s Learn Team to improve our company learning platform and other tools and platforms we use for our work.

- Work on the development of user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.

- Participate in user research and usability testing, providing insights for design improvements.

- Implement design concepts and ensure a smooth and enjoyable user experience.

- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute fresh ideas to the team.

 

What can we offer you?

We offer you diverse and dynamic tasks within a great international team. Your work will contribute to shaping our learning environment and support sustainable mobility and liveable cities and regions. We provide flexible working hours and remote working arrangements, but we also enjoy working together in our office in the center of Cologne.

A working time of 12-20 hours per week is desired for 3-6 months, with flexible work hours. Applicants must be enrolled as students at a German university or university of applied sciences. The proof is provided by the certificate of enrolment: Immatrikulationsbescheinigung.

Who are we looking for?   

You are in the middle of your studies but already have some work experience through internships or similar. You are interested in sustainable urban mobility and the liveable design of cities and would like to use your skills to achieve this?

Then you've come to the right place. We believe in diverse teams and that we achieve the best results when our employees work according to their strengths and interests. This also applies to our student assistants as well. That's why we are looking for different talents for different areas of focus. Regardless of your focus, the following is important to us: You like to take initiative and work independently. You speak fluent English and German and have experience in using modern software solutions and MS Office. You enjoy working in an international team.

What will you do? What suits you best:

- For prospective mobility experts: You will expand your and our expert knowledge
through research work and specific analyses, such as the evaluation of mobility plans concerning the fulfillment of quality criteria of a SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan). You will also support us in our consulting projects with the preparation of results. 

- For wordsmiths: Together with our subject matter experts, you will use your good sense of language to write coherent texts for different target groups (experts, research institutions, citizens) in German or English. Thanks to your excellent knowledge of word processing with Microsoft Word, you will help us with the formatting of extensive documents. 

- For visuals: With your good feeling for colors, shapes, and images, you create
(appealing) presentations for our presentations, eLearning courses, and communication materials. Your good knowledge of PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign will help you with this. 

- For "data cracks": You will support our research and consulting projects by
analyzing and graphically processing data from scientific surveys - mainly using Excel.
