SUMI3 is the third project in a series aimed at developing, optimizing, and testing indicators for a sustainable urban mobility system.
Duration 12/2023 - 07/2025
Coordinator Rupprecht Consult (as part of a framework contract led by PwC)
The main objective is to determine the extent to which urban nodes in the trans-European transport system TEN-T are able to gather the necessary data to utilize a specific indicator system. The focus will be on data collection methods, frequency of data generation, quality assurance, data governance, and related areas. This will be achieved through a combination of desk research and semi-structured interviews with representatives from selected urban nodes. Based on the findings, recommendations may be developed. These could involve measures to facilitate data collection by cities in the future, adjustments to indicator definitions to enable easier use of existing data, or exploration of alternative data collection methods.
The primary goal is to gather reliable data on urban mobility in major European cities (referred to as "urban nodes"). We will also provide recommendations to improve data collection, facilitate the use of existing data, and propose alternative data collection methods where necessary.
Rupprecht Consult is coordinating WP2 (SUMI3), one of the three independent workpackages of the project, and is responsible for Task 2.1 Mapping of existing monitoring arrangements in urban nodes. Rupprecht Consult is also involved in Task 2.2 Quality assessment of existing and potential alternative data sources, lead by PTV).
