The project check4zero, in collaboration with Rupprecht GmbH, is being coordinated by the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and developed with the Graz Energy Agency and the Austrian Federal Environmental Agency. It aims to support the sustainable transition of mobility systems in Austrian cities. To reach the emission targets set for the mobility sector, cities, and municipalities require a system that helps them make informed decisions and prioritize necessary measures and activities. Therefore, it is essential to provide cities with a tool that can assess the effectiveness of measures based on various parameters, data, and research, and help them select the most suitable ones.

The project's goal is to build a detailed knowledge base that connects indicators, measures, methodologies, and datasets in order to evaluate mobility interventions in a systematic manner. Feedback from participating cities will help identify the necessary tools and priorities for assessing and ranking mobility measures. Lastly, we will develop a prototype concept tailored to urban needs, which includes early stakeholder involvement and participatory workshops to ensure practical solutions.
The check4zero project gathers essential information in a knowledge base to address the challenges of accurately assessing and evaluating mobility measures for achieving climate neutrality. Because mobility measures are complex and have long-term effects, it is difficult to assess them accurately. Therefore, there is a need for a tool that compiles all the necessary available data, considers local and national impacts, and factors in costs. Most cities require this tool to compare and contrast different mobility measures and choose the ones that best suit their needs and budgets.
Rupprecht Consult leads WP2 "Creation of a comprehensive knowledge base" and creates a knowledge document on the topic of indicators.
