In June, the mid-term review meeting for the first cycle of AITHENA project took place in Brussels hosted by the IRU (project partner).

On June 18th, the mid-term review meeting for the first cycle of the AITHENA project was held in Brussels, hosted by the IRU.

The purpose of the review meeting was to present the work, results, and achievements of the 17 AITHENA consortium partners to CINEA/European Commission representatives. The review covered the outcomes from the project’s first cycle, which spanned the initial 18 months of activity.

In AITHENA, Rupprecht Consult is leading the first Work Package (WP) focusing on the Methodology: AI Human-centric approach. During the event, the results from the 1st WP were presented, focusing on the development of the AITHENA methodology to incorporate trustworthiness into AI development and address the needs, expectations, and concerns of different stakeholder groups on CCAM implementation, with a particular focus on functionalities where AI solutions can be integrated. Furthermore, the ongoing use cases were defined and presented, focusing on their rationale, objectives, demonstrators, scope, and scenarios. These results have already contributed to the project milestone of ‘Preliminary AITHENA methodology and list of trusted AI KPIs’.

At the event, other WP leaders presented results related to data (defining data card structure and anonymization techniques), Explainable AI (XAI) (including life cycle management frameworks for machine learning models and model cards), tools and testing facilities (defining requirements for toolchain development and proposed solutions), initial use case evaluation, impact through exploitation, dissemination and standardization, and project management.

The research and innovation project on Connected and Cooperative Automated Mobility (CCAM) solutions aims to build trustworthy, explainable, and accountable CCAM technologies. With the ongoing second cycle of AITHENA, Rupprecht Consult will continue the 'Methodology: AI Human-centric approach' through two deliverables in the summer and lead the task on lessons learned and policy recommendations.
