NICHES+ with big steps ahead

Guidelines for implementers now available.

The NICHES+ project on urban transport innovation has made big steps ahead during the last months. A key output for dissemination, the “Guidelines for Implementers” that provide information on the implementation process of 12 promising urban transport innovations, have been made available in attractive layout as print and electronic version.Rupprecht Consult has elaborated three guidelines in the thematic area of innovative concepts to enhance accessibility, covering:

• Travel training for public transport
• Neighbourhood accessibility planning
• Tailored traveller information for users with reduced mobility .

Furthermore several site visits have been carried out that brought together practitioners from cities with experience in implementing innovative transport and mobility solutions with representatives of cities that want to realise similar solutions. Rupprecht Consult visited together with a team from the NICHES+ Champion Region Artois-Gohelle (northern France) the City of Gothenburg, which is a European forerunner in making public transport more accessible.
