On April 28, Kristin Tovaas joined the team.
She has an interdisciplinary background in sustainability science, communication and system analysis, with a specialisation in sustainable transport and urban development. She earned an MSc in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University in Sweden. For her thesis, she analysed the potential for key local stakeholders in the greater Philadelphia area to work together to regain passenger train service on a disused portion of rail while achieving a transition towards a more socially equitable public transport system. After publishing her thesis as a case study for ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, Kristin then joined their World Secretariat in Bonn. There, she assisted in the development of ICLEI's knowledge management systems and conducted research on local actions for sustainable urban development in cities around the world. Welcome, Kristin!
