The third cohort of Pilot Cities, spanning twelve European Union and Horizon Europe Associated Countries, has been chosen to participate in the NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Programme, initiating unparalleled climate action efforts.
Twenty-five cities have committed to becoming climate-neutral as part of the EU Cities Mission and are set to receive further EU support for ambitious climate-related projects. This support is aimed at speeding up progress towards their 2030 goal. Among these cities, Leipzig and Dresden, with whom Rupprecht Consult has established long-lasting working relationships, have been selected. The chosen cities will undergo a formal Grant Agreement Process to ensure compliance with due diligence standards and will receive expert support to improve their proposals. The selected cities include Helsinki and Tampere (Finland); Munich, Dortmund, Heidelberg, Leipzig, and Dresden (Germany); Brussels and Antwerp (Belgium); Gabrovo (Bulgaria); Reykjavik (Iceland); Sønderborg (Denmark); Angers Loire Métropole, Bordeaux Métropole, Communauté Urbaine de Dunkerque, and the City of Paris (France); Dublin and Cork (Ireland); Athens, Trikala, Kalamata, and Thessaloniki (Greece); Elbasan (Albania); Izmir (Turkey); and Gothenburg (Sweden).
