30 June 2022, 9.00-19.00
The German Institute of Urban Affairs, the City of Constance and CIVINET German Language Area invite municipal experts on a joint excursion on foot and by bike through Constance.
In 2019, Constance became the first German city to declare a climate emergency. This also brought new momentum for walking and cycling to the Dreiländer-Eck at Lake Constance.
In 2020, the city of Constance was awarded third place in the ADFC Bicycle Climate Test in the 50,000-100,000 inhabitants category, and the city is currently developing a pedestrian traffic concept for a "city of short (walking) distances." With 30%, the city of Constance is one of the cities with the highest share of bicycle traffic in Germany, and the "Mobility Master Plan 2020+" is intended to motivate even more people to make the switch.
With the expert guidance of the cycling and pedestrian traffic officers of the city of Constance and the German Institute of Urban Affairs, you will explore infrastructures such as bicycle lanes, bicycle parking facilities and the popular pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Rhine during the excursion. You will learn about Constance's new approaches to crossings for pedestrian traffic and visit the Paradies district, for which there are planning proposals as a "superblock".
The excursion will enable you to discuss Konstanz' further plans and to expand your personal network with committed colleagues from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Target group: The excursion is aimed at local government employees from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Fees: The excursion is free of charge (including lunch). The number of participants is limited to 20. Cancellations must be made in writing.
Registration: Registration is exclusively online here: difu.de/17263
