German municipal survey as part of the "Indicators of Sustainable Urban Mobility" project

23.05.2023

The nationwide online municipal survey for the research project “Indikatoren nachhaltiger urbaner Mobilität” (Indicators of Sustainable Urban Mobility) commissioned by the BMDV will take place until 6 June 2023.Representatives from German municipalities with a population of at least 5,000 people are warmly invited to participate in the survey. The aim of the project is to develop a practical set of indicators to measure sustainable (urban) mobility. By participating in the survey, you can contribute valuable experience from municipal practice and influence the design of suitable indicators.

The aim of the project commissioned by the BMDV is to develop a broad-based indicator system supported by German municipalities and to make it available to the municipalities in the form of a practical handbook once the project is completed.

In order for the indicator system to be applicable in municipal practice, it is essential to involve German cities and towns.

For this reason, a nationwide online municipal survey will take place from 4 April to 6 June 2023, organised by the Chair of Integrated Transport Planning and Road Traffic Engineering (IVST) at the Technische Universität Dresden together with the Deutsches Institut für Urbanistik (Difu). Rupprecht Consult is leading the research project.

The online survey focuses on local understandings of sustainability, goals in mobility and transport planning, and indicators and data already used to measure sustainable mobility.
