FLOW presented at the European Conference on Mobility Management in Athens

Bonnie Fenton from Rupprecht Consult presented the FLOW project at the European Conference on Mobility Management in Athens, Greece on 3 June 2016. The conference attracted practitioners and decision makers from across Europe and featured Tim Papandreou, Director of the Office of Innovation at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Maria Vassilakou, Deputy Mayor of the City of Vienna. There was strong interest in FLOW’s claim that the transportation benefits of walking and cycling need to be emphasised and measured along with the economic, health and environmental benefits. Particular interest was shown in FLOW’s Market Forerunners component, which brings together consultants who work with transport modelling tools to demonstrate the need for accurate and appropriate inclusion of cyclists and pedestrians in transport modelling tools so that they are accurately represented in the outcomes of modelling activities.
