ELIPTIC partner meeting and local workshops in Leipzig and Eberswalde

Between 9 – 12 November 2015, the ELIPTIC partners came together for a succesful consortium meeting in Leipzig, Germany. In addition, two ELIPTIC local technical workshops were organised in conjunction with the 10-11 November partner meeting, namely on 9 November 2015 in Leipzig and on 12 November in Eberswalde.

After a short welcome note and a company presentation by the host LVB – Lepizigerverkehrsbetriebe, delivered by Mr. Ronald Juhrs (CTO), day one of the partner meeting began with the presentation of <link https: www.thinkstep.com>thinkstep initiative, a leading company in the field of sustainability performance management. As partner in the <link http: zeeus.eu>ZeEus European project, they have tackled the challenge of collecting and analysing data from public transport companies and from manufacturers, with the scope of analysing the hybrid bus technology as a bridging technology for electric buses. The day continued with a presentation and a fruitful working session on the strategy development of ELIPTIC‘s 11 use cases, with a focus on the use case background and set-up framework each demonstration city is currently preparing. The second day started with the presentation of LowCVP’s new Low Emission Bus Accreditation Scheme for UK. <link http: www.lowcvp.org.uk>LowCVP is a network of nearly 200 organisations coming from industry, government, research, academia, environmental NGOs areas. Their role is to create demand, policies and tools using research, to explore how policies evolve and how are they performing in practise. The rest of the day focused on ELIPTIC internal activities, status to-date and next steps of the project, covering a variety of tasks such as evaluation of use cases, ELIPTIC twinning fund, dissemination of project results, and project management. The consortium meeting ended with a site visit of e-bus charging station at the bus depot of LVB.
