The European project “ACTUATE - Advanced Training and Education for Safe Eco-driving of Clean Vehicles” focused on the importance of safe eco-driving of clean vehicles and provided public transport operators with the opportunity to introduce and test safe eco-driving trainings. The ACTUATE project ended January 31, 2015 and all project materials, e-Learning courses and a starter-kit are now available in a variety of languages. The ACTUATE eco-driving training programmes were tested with more than 1.500 drivers at the partners public transport operators in Salzburg (Austria) on trolleybuses, Leipzig (Germany) on trams and hybrid buses, Eberswalde (Germany) on trolleybuses, Parma (Italy) on trolleybuses, and Brno (Czech Republic) on trams and trolleybuses. The final results of the ACTUATE trainings show that safe eco-driving has the potential to increase the energy-efficiency of bus and tram fleets by 3% to 6% in daily operation. The training sessions that have been developed as part of the ACTUATE project comply with the European directive 2003/59. All final training materials (brochures, presentations and introduction concepts) as well as image ads can be downloaded in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Czech, Polish (only tram and trolleybus materials) and Romanian (only trolleybus materials) from <link http: www.actuate-ecodriving.eu>www.actuate-ecodriving.eu. To support the positive results and to constantly refresh the knowledge of ecological and safe driving style, the project partners have developed a series of e-Learning courses that could be flexibly integrated into management training sessions for professional drivers of clean vehicles. The ACTUATE e-Learning modules are available in English, German, Italian and Czech and can be tested at the following link: <link http: www.rupprecht-academy.eu course>www.rupprecht-academy.eu/course/index.php Moreover, a convenient starter kit in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Czech, Polish (only tram and trolleybus materials) and Romanian (only trolleybus materials) will now be available free of charge. The starter kit includes a USB-stick with all training materials, advertising posters, a “lessons learned” brochure in English, practical giveaways, a project flyer. In order to request a complimentary starter kit in one of the available languages, please contact Alexandra Scharzenberger from trolley:motion at <link>email@example.com. In case of additional interest, feel free to contact the ACTUATE project coordinator Wolfgang Backhaus from Rupprecht Consult at <link>firstname.lastname@example.org. We would be happy to hear from you and support you in introducing eco-driving in your city!
