ACTUATE 3rd Partner Meeting

19.06.2013

Last week, on 12 and 13 June the ACTUATE consortium came together for a successful third Partner Meeting in Parma, Italy.

To kick-off the meeting, the ACTUATE partners exchanged their views on safe eco-driving training concepts and study materials that have been developed by the participating transport operators for different clean-vehicle types. The partners also reported on their experiences with the pilot-trainings that have been carried for drivers of trolleybuses, trams and hybrid-buses.

On the second day of the meeting, each partner presented its concept for an in-house campaign, which will communicate the benefits of safe eco-driving to the drivers. Together with the other partners the individual approaches were discussed, reviewed and evaluated, in order to ensure long-lasting impacts of the ACTUATE trainings concepts.

Finally, all ACTUATE partners present in Parma had the chance to be on board of TEP's new Van Hool trolleybus vehicle (see photo) for a test drive through the city. The test drive was organised to showcase a new software solution, which measures and records the vehicle's energy consumption in real-time. The tool was developed by ACTUATE partner Van Hool in cooperation with Vossloh-Kiepe, a supplier of electrical systems for urban transportation vehicles, and will be the basis for the development of safe eco-driving training concepts for trolleybuses equipped with supercaps.
