ALTHEA Project Kicks Off With collaborative Meetings in Aachen and Brussels

An exciting start to the month for the ALTHEA project: two kick-off meetings laid the foundation for the next steps.

The project is developing 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮 𝗯𝘀 (𝗧𝗦𝗟𝗟𝘀) that bring together cities, peri-urban areas and key stakeholders to jointly design new configurations, governance models and integrated measures – with the aim of making peri-urban areas more resilient, 𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫 𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙠𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡.

On Monday, 1 December 2025, the team in Aachen and colleagues from Rupprecht Consult met for an intensive working session to discuss replicator activities. This focused meeting enabled local partners to develop ideas together, align expectations and discuss initial concepts. The meeting created a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities and paved the way for further discussions throughout the week.

On Thursday, 4 December 2025, all ALTHEA partners gathered in Brussels for the official project launch. Representatives from across Europe met to present their roles, review the project structure and begin developing the joint roadmap for the coming months. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to synchronise efforts, reaffirm common goals and strengthen the partnership at the start of the project.

Together, these two sessions demonstrated the consortium's strong commitment to achieving impactful results from the outset. The ALTHEA team is now complete and ready to drive the project's mission forward in the coming years.
