Our team is deliberately international. We are experienced professionals with many years of expertise in both the private and public sectors. Our staff are trained in economics, social sciences, spatial and urban planning, environmental sciences, geography, engineering, and public relations.
All of us bring international work experience and speak several languages. At present, we speak German, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Romanian, Hindi, Georgian, Arabic, Turkish … and more.

Management

Dr. Wolfgang Backhaus
Since the beginning of 2023, Wolfgang has been one of the two Managing Directors of Rupprecht Consult – though he has been closely connected to the company since 2009. He studied Economic Geography and Sociology at RWTH Aachen, where he also earned his PhD, and later headed the Knowledge Management department at the university’s Center for Learning and Knowledge Management. His combination of academic background and hands-on experience continues to shape his work today: Wolfgang is an expert in coordinating and managing large EU-funded projects in the mobility sector. As a certified change manager, he also advises municipalities, public transport operators, and companies on complex transformation processes. Outside of work, he is a passionate football fan – especially of 1. FC Köln – and still occasionally plays himself. He also enjoys going to concerts and trying out new restaurants. On weekends, he most enjoys spending time with his family, provided his teenage children are up for it.

Dr. Jana Spille
Since the beginning of 2023, Jana has been Managing Director of Rupprecht Consult, bringing with her more than 20 years of consulting experience. Before joining Rupprecht Consult, she worked as an independent consultant and coach and headed the ‘Strategic Projects’ division at Bosch Rexroth. Holding a doctorate in business administration, she has led and supported numerous change and transformation projects. Her passion is driving meaningful change: whether it’s change management, organizational analysis, or agile ways of working, she knows how to shape complex collaboration and empower teams. With this expertise, she supports cities and regions in successfully managing the transition to sustainable mobility and climate neutrality. In her free time, Jana enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves being active and adventurous in nature — often accompanied by Bruno, the dog she kindly “shares” with her colleague Ralf.
Our Team

Marcel Braun
Marcel Braun studied sociology, anthropology and pedagogy at the Universities of Heidelberg, Bonn and London. He joined Rupprecht Consult in 2008 and has coordinated numerous projects and proposals across different EU and national programmes and for various clients. He is co-[MB1] Team Leader of the company’s RESEARCH team and oversees all projects as financial controller[MB2] . Marcel also has a life outside the company, not only featuring activities such as sleeping and eating but also spending time in nature, preferably hiking.

Bonnie Fenton
Bonnie is a researcher and educator who came to sustainable urban mobility through cycling advocacy 25+ years ago in Vancouver. She has a Master of Education from the University of British Columbia (Canada). Bonnie leads Rupprecht's Focus Area on active mobility and she feels that real improvements in cities come when urban spaces are made accessible and attractive to people of all ages and abilities walking and cycling. It sounds so simple but somehow faces so many obstacles. While international work is amazing, Bonnie also wants to make a difference in the city she lives in; currently that means co-chairing the Bremen state branch of the German Cyclists' Federation (ADFC-Bremen). Apart from cycling, Bonnie enjoys knitting, reading, spending time at the Baltic Sea (including polar bear swims) and playing board games with her family.

Hana Peters
Hana studied Psychology at Haverford College in Pennsylvania (USA) before pursuing Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University in Sweden. There, she explored how cities move – with a particular focus on urban transport and travel behavior. Before joining Rupprecht Consult, Hana worked with ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), where she put her international and interdisciplinary skills into practice. Today, she is part of our People-focused Mobility Solutions team, helping to shape sustainable ways for communities to get around. When she’s not tackling mobility challenges, you’ll most likely find Hana out on a run or in the kitchen, enthusiastically experimenting with new vegan baking creations.

Morgane Juliat
Morgane Juliat is a dedicated Urban Mobility Consultant with a dual Master’s in Urban Policy from Sciences Po and LSE. Since joining Rupprecht in 2020, she has been managing both research and consulting projects in the field of mobility planning and policy, driven by her passion for enhancing urban livability. Outside of work, Morgane loves practicing yoga, exploring new destinations, and learning new languages to connect with diverse cultures.

Hannah Walther
Hannah holds a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management and Development, with a focus on Urban Mobility from the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering. Her professional experience as a project coordinator and advisor spans urban development, citizen engagement, and international cooperation. Beyond her work, Hannah is equally passionate about sustainable mobility: long-distance biking, hiking remote trails, and sailing the seven seas. In the urban sphere, she appreciates diversity of both cultural spaces and gastronomy.

Dr. Susanne Böhler-Baedecker
Susanne brings over 29 years of expertise in sustainable mobility and climate planning. With a PhD from TU Dortmund and experience as Deputy Head of the Energy, Climate and Transport Policy Division at the renowned Wuppertal Institute, she combines academic excellence with hands-on policy knowledge. For the past twelve years, Susanne has been leading the team at Rupprecht Consult that supports governments, cities and regions across Europe in shaping and implementing cutting-edge Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs). Outside of work, Susanne enjoys time with family & friends, music old and new, and discovering fresh ideas through culture, events, and podcasts. Always curious about politics and society, she keeps up with the world by reading the newspaper every day.

Ana-Maria Bastón
Ana-Maria Baston is a licensed architect with a master’s in integrated urban development from the University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, Romania. She has a relevant professional experience in architectural design, urban planning and sustainable urban mobility spanning over 15 years. At Rupprecht Consult, Ana-Maria is a Project Manager within the Integrated Planning team and is co-leading the international consultancy services. She is focusing on multi-country and city-led projects related to the development of sustainable urban mobility plans (SUMPs), public transport innovations and energy efficiency. In her free time, she loves reading, watching movies, playing board games, but also exploring cities and discovering new cultures.

Katy Huaylla
Katy is a sustainable mobility pro with over 10 years of experience creating game-changing urban mobility solutions across Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. With an MSc in Transport and City Planning from University College London, UK, she's now at Rupprecht Consult, where she leads and coordinates international projects, including Horizon Europe initiatives, offering both strategic insights and hands-on technical advice. When she’s off the clock, Katy stays inspired and energized through sports, working out, and connecting with nature. She loves hiking, traveling, and exploring new cities—always eager to discover what’s around the corner.

Sara Abuhenedy
Sara has a Bachelor's in Architecture and Urban Planning, along with a Master's in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design, with a focus on urban mobility. She's worked across Europe and Africa, diving deep into mobility consulting, from SUMPs to urban research, data visualization, and passenger info design. When she’s not shaping cities, you’ll find her traveling the world and discovering new cuisines. Back home, she loves to unwind by cooking up something delicious, sketching, or unwinding a good series.

Hassan Hussin
Hassan is a Mobility Consultant, Project Manager, and PhD candidate focused on promoting integrated mobility systems. At Rupprecht, he leads the Shared Mobility focus area and works on SUMPs, DRT & PT innovations, Urban Freight Transport, Inclusive mobility, and Capacity Building Programs, with diverse experience across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Outside work, he loves exploring cities, nature, and sports—Messi is the GOAT, and supporting Barça is more than just a hobby.

Otar Nemsadze
Otar holds a Master of Science in Urban Management and Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has over 15 years of experience in the private and public sectors. He has headed the Urban Planning Department of Tbilisi and has been involved in various projects focusing on sustainable development. In his free time he likes to read, ski, organise the biennial architecture festival in Tbilisi, eat food prepared by others and encourage people to be climate friendly.

Stefan Gabi
Stefan Gabi is a spatial and environmental planner with more than 25 years of experience in Integrated Urban Development Planning. He has gathered working experience in Germany and internationally (in the framework of German development cooperation), as staff member of city administrations (Leipzig, Timisoara, Lviv) and as consultant (SLR Consulting, Rupprecht Consult). His current focus is on supporting the development of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans mainly in German cities. Stefan and his family like traveling between West and East, enjoying Europe's architecture, culture, landscapes, and cuisine.

Leventcan Er
Leventcan Er studied Civil Engineering (B.Sc.) at Middle East Technical University in Türkiye. He holds a master's degree in Transportation Systems from the Technical University of Munich. Before joining Rupprecht Consult, Leventcan gained insights into ITS, public transport, and sustainable urban mobility. He started at Rupprecht Consult as a student assistant in August 2023 and is currently a junior consultant in the Consulting Team. When not hard at work, he enjoys traveling, shooting hoops, swinging a tennis racket, or braving the currents while rowing.

Henning Holdinghausen
Henning is an urban planner and geographer. He joined Rupprecht Consult in 2014 as one of the company’s first trainees and has been managing various public transport innovation and e-mobility projects. Since 2023 Henning is heading the Innovation Team which supports public authorities in the implementation of innovative mobility measures. Outside of Rupprecht Consult, Henning enjoys spending time with his family and fooling around with his little daughter. He is a nature and sport enthusiast enjoying all kinds of sports ranging from soccer to weightlifting, soccer, Yoga and hiking.

Daniel Franco Trujillo
Daniel Franco is a senior consultant and researcher at Rupprecht Consult, where he’s all about making mobility smarter, greener, and more people-friendly. He leads our work on Connected Cooperative Automated Mobility (CCAM) and also dives into topics like Multimodal Traffic Management and Demand Responsive Transport. Born in Cali, Colombia (yes, he dances salsa), Daniel studied Civil Engineering and Physics at Universidad de los Andes before heading to Germany for a Master’s in Infrastructure Planning at the University of Stuttgart. Since then, he's been working across Europe to help cities rethink mobility through innovation, strategy and cooperation. When he's not talking CCAM or Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP), Daniel’s usually chasing a football or a tennis ball — these days, often with his young son. He loves discovering new cities and going camping with his family, preferably somewhere with a bit of sunshine.

Laura Lopez Osorio
Laura López is an Urban Mobility Consultant with degrees in architecture and urban management. At Rupprecht Consult, she manages EU-funded mobility projects and leads research, training, and workshops for initiatives like UPPER, EAFO 3.0, SCALE, and CE4CE. Before joining Rupprecht Consult, Laura managed the E-Bus Mission City Network at ICLEI, supporting over 50 Global South cities in advancing electric bus adoption. Previously, she worked across Latin America as an urban designer in Medellín, led planning projects in Guatemala and Colombia, and supported transit-oriented development in Bogotá. In her free time, Laura enjoys cycling both indoors and outdoors, going to the movies and rock and jazz concerts and exploring cities with a sketchbook in hand. She's also a passionate home cook—especially for spicy Korean, Chinese, Indian, and Thai dishes.The spicier, the better!

Dr. Lakshya Pandit
Lakshya is a Project Manager within the Collective and Intelligent Mobility team at Rupprecht Consult. He holds a PhD in Urban Design and Planning where his research focused on multimodal accessibility in Rhein-Main area. Beyond research, he has collaborated with local, national, and international authorities in real-world projects such as implementing cycle lanes, conducting on-site audits for barrier free accessibility in multimodal transport hubs, slum-free city planning, and sustainable community master plans. In his free time, he likes to loop guitar sounds, make blunders on a chess board, shoot some basketball hoops, hop concerts, dive with fishes, and spend time with animals!

Clara Schneider
Clara is a passionate Urbanist with a Master’s in Engineering Sustainable Cities from AAU Copenhagen. Inspired by the impact of mobility on urban liveability, she leads mobility data projects, focusing on assessing what is prevalent, identifying what is needed, and measuring the effects of interventions. In her free time, Clara enjoys exploring cities and their diverse offerings such as restaurants, cafes, and museums. She loves speaking different languages and connecting with people. Not only does she enjoy dancing on a night out, but she has also been practicing ballet since she was young.

Vladislav Sidorov
Vladislav is a Consultant at Rupprecht Consult, specialising in vehicle automation, logistics, and sustainable mobility. He manages Horizon Europe Research and Innovation projects and holds a Master’s in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds, as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from Ural Federal University. His background spans strategic consulting, logistics, and research institutions. Before joining Rupprecht Consult, he worked in urban planning, focusing on sustainable mobility, geospatial planning, and master planning, contributing to spatial development strategies and feasibility studies for metropolitan areas. Outside work, Vladislav is passionate about endurance sports—road cycling, bikepacking, running, and basketball—and enjoys travelling, architecture, and contemporary art.

Shreesha Vaidhya
Shreesha is a Consultant at Rupprecht Consult. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Business Administration & Engineering (MBAE) specializing in Automotive Management from HTW Berlin University in Germany. At Rupprecht Consult, Shreesha is the leader for electric mobility and energy transition focus area and part of the Innovation Team, working on projects related to electric mobility, smart charging and V2G, public transport electrification, and energy transition through renewable energy communities and positive energy districts. He specializes in managing and coordinating Research & Innovation projects in funding programmes like Horizon Europe and Interreg. Prior to joining us, he has also worked as a Project Manager for Bosch India on powertrain development projects. In his free time, he likes to play football and badminton, learn about local culture and people when he gets to travel, try new recipes to cook and find new ideas to practice a sustainable lifestyle in order to walk the talk.

Lisa Bloß
Lisa's background reflects a long-standing interest in how people, places, and policies intersect. She holds a degree in Environmental and Geographical Sciences and Political Studies from the University of Cape Town, and a Master’s in Environmental Planning from the Technical University of Berlin. Most recently, Lisa worked as a transport advisor at Auckland Council, where she provided policy advice on transport strategy. In 2025, she (re)joined Rupprecht Consult, bringing with her a mix of political communication and project management skills, and a deep commitment to shaping better mobility futures. When she’s not working on RC projects, Lisa is busy serving her two little adorable (but very demanding) bosses at home, tormenting friends and family with impromptu piano and singing sessions, or rescuing yet another plant she definitely has space for.

Ralf Brandt
Head of Research Quality
Ralf has a range of degrees under his belt: A good old Diploma in Geography; a PhD in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin; a PGCHET (MA in higher education teaching) from Queen’s University Belfast. Ralf was appointed Head of Research back in his days at the University of Manchester and he still plays this role at Rupprecht Consult. In his (little) spare time he serves as member of the board or (semi-active member) of some NGOs (e.g. hdak, ADFC, VCD, Fuss e.V.), plays the guitar, enjoys time with his family, friends and co-housing peers or turns his neighbourhood upside down. Cristina Redinger
Office Management
Cristina Redinger kicked off her career in sales & marketing for the hotel industry in Spain after completing her vocational training in Hotel Business in Germany. She brings a broad international background in office and operations management — from Office Manager roles in Spain and the U.S. to overseeing a commercial photography studio in Cologne. Since September 2023, she’s been the driving force behind the smooth flow of things at Rupprecht Consult as Office Manager. A true global citizen, Cristina has lived in seven countries and during her free time is always chasing the next off-the-beaten-path adventure. When she’s not keeping things running seamlessly at the office, she’s studying for a B.A. in Sustainability Management—or diving (sometimes literally) into her passions: scuba diving, inline skating, hiking, yoga, reading, or crafting something vegan and delicious in the kitchen.

Brigit Christian
HR & Finance
Birgit Christian first completed her vocational training as a Bürokauffrau and subsequently achieved a bachelor's degree in International Management and has been working in Human Resources since 2008. At Rupprecht Consult, she has been supporting the Office Management Team in the areas of Human Resources and finance since May 2025. Outside of the office Birgit spends a lot of time in the water – swimming by herself, with her family or with groups of babies and toddlers and their parents. She also likes to sew and fix or upcycle worn out and damaged fabrics.

Jessica Adrian
Marketing & Social Media
Jessica holds a MSc from the University of Barcelona and is a huge marketing enthusiast with a strong focus on social media and event management. Her passion lies in creating purposeful, engaging communication and fostering meaningful connections. In her free time she volunteers as community manager for one of the largest networks of Latina women in Germany based in NRW. She loves connecting with different cultures and is always up for a coffee or matcha latte
