People-focussed mobility solutions

Our "People-focussed Mobility Solutions” team promotes projects and activities that make sustainable, healthy and active mobility accessible and enjoyable for everyone in their everyday lives.

While technology may play an important role, it is always a means to an end. The key to people-focussed solutions is the appropriate integration of technologies, infrastructures, urban design, services and wider social initiatives in comprehensive bundles. These, in turn, should make sustainable mobility practices convenient, safe, attractive, pleasant and fully accepted by society in the sense of new mobility cultures.

Concrete elements of such approaches include convivial urban spaces, multi-modal trip planners, effective sharing services, user-friendly cargo bikes, walkable and bikeable environments.

The key themes addressed by the “Solutions” team are: integrated urban mobility approaches, facilitating sustainable mobility routines, active mobility and community-based innovation, co-creation and living labs.

Our Services

  • Promoting ways to facilitate sustainable, healthy and active mobility routines
  • Researching the integration of infrastructure, design, technology, information and services
  • Harnessing the potentials of car-, bike-, scooter- and ride-sharing
  • Focusing on the usability of solutions in people's everyday life
  • Promoting new mobility cultures (convenient, safe, pleasant, accepted)
  • Supporting cities to achieve transport inclusivity, i.e. accessibility for all
  • Developing state-of-the-art modelling approaches to represent truly all modes
  • Training and knowledge transfer about all of the above
