Development of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) and related infrastructure projects in the Ukrainian cities Poltava and Zhytomyr.
Developed in the framework of the project "Integrated Urban Development in Ukraine", implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and financed by the Governments of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Swiss Confederation.
The project aims to improve the local capacities for integrated mobility planning and implementation. An integrated and participative mobility planning process will be conducted in Poltawa and Schytomyr that results in SUMPs in both cities. The planning processes aim to advance public transport, walking and cycling as well as mobility management and will become model processes applicable to other Ukrainian cities.
At the end of the project, SUMPs have been developed in both cities that prioritise investments in mobility measures. Based on the plans, an infrastructure project has been implemented in both Poltava and Zhytomyr.
