SWITCH - Call for Follower Cities is out now!!!

Become one of 20 SWITCH Follower Cities!!!

Have you ever wondered how to design campaigns to encourage your citizens to switch from their car to a more active mode? Then become a Follower City within the SWITCH project. The core of a local SWITCH Campaign is PERSONALISED TRAVEL PLANNING using insights from public health and mobility campaigning. It also includes ICT solution for Motivation. Target Groups of SWITCH-Campaigns are People in a period of life Change.Local campaigns use a three step Approach:
  • raise awareness,
  • impart knowledge and
  • motivate behaviour Change.
A first step in breaking unsustainable mobility routines is to increase awareness of active modes and their advantages. A Follower City should be interested in preparing, conducting and evaluating a local SWITCH-Campaign following the approach of personalised travel planning. The campaign will be supported by extensive take-up and training activities on the way to their own SWITCH campaigns. A Follower City has the chance to benefit from five SWITCH-Campaigns conducted across Europe and recognise the benefits of active mobility for urban quality of life and public health. A Follower City will learn how to prepare, conduct and evaluate a behaviour change campaign. You will receive individualised advice, guidance and on-site training from partners of the SWITCH project funded by the European Commission, thereby benefiting from experiences made by cities already conducting SWITCH-Campaigns.

A Follower City obtains training:
  • by participating in two workshops with all project partners from the SWITCH project:
    1: “Preparation of the local campaigns”, Gdansk, April 2015
    2: “Evaluation and Lessons learned within the implementation of the local campaigns”, tbd, March 2016      
    through web-based educational activities.
  • by participating in a placement with one of the SWITCH-City partners implementing SWITCH-Campaigns or by receiving advice from a SWITCH-Expert.
