SUNRISE joins other neighbourhood projects for virtual final conference

The SUNRISE project joined forces, insights and enthusiasm with three other European projects, which all worked towards better mobility solutions at the neighbourhood level through a co-creation approach. A virtual conference supported the discussion and exchange of ideas.
How did this work? Local project teams worked with citizens, businesses and other stakeholders on site to identify the most pressing issues together, to develop ideas and plans for concrete measures, even to co-implement these measures and to evaluate them together.
Besides SUNRISE, the three other projects Cities4People, METAMORPHOSIS and LOOPER participated in this co-creation approach towards better mobility solutions. All of these projects will soon come to an end and therefore had interesting findings and recommendations to share. In order to pool this know-how and to maximise the impact and reach, the four projects agreed early on to organise a joint final event. Originally, this should have taken place as physical conference - alas, COVID-19 thwarted this idea.
Instead, a joint online conference was organised for the whole afternoon of 20 October 2020. SUNRISE was presented by our colleague Kristin Tovaas; She also hosted a breakout session on the advantages and challenges of working in a co-creative way at the neighbourhood level. The turnout was quite impressive with 99 people joining the webinar.The conference was also organised in the framework of the <link https: www.polisnetwork.eu mobilising-mobility external-link-new-window external link in new>POLIS Mobilising Mobility webinar series, which has the purpose to widely disseminate EU-funded projects and initiatives and contribute to transforming research into local action and mobility policies.Learn more about the projects here:
