NICHES+ Final Conference in London

London was the ideal location to present and showcase urban transport and mobility innovation at the NICHES+ Final conference on 7 and 8 April 2011.

More than 100 participants listened to presentations from European experts and the NICHES+ Champion Cities on how to implement promising new urban transport and mobility solutions. Site visits and Master classes offered opportunities to see many measures on-the-ground as for example the Walkable /Legible London programme, cycling measures, Electric vehicles in car share clubs, ITS for buses, mobility management at a big company, Heathrow’s PRT system or interchange development at Saint Pancras station. The conference concluded with a high-level round table discussion on what local authorities can do to foster urban transport innovation and the OSMOSE Award ceremony that recognises outstanding achievements of local authorities in implementing innovative transport and mobility measures.
