Mobility Planet podcast: What's the big deal about data?

New month - new episode. Listen to our newest episode on data and new mobility.

Everybody talks about big data, but what is it good for? In the context of the GECKO project, which looks at various aspects of the governance and regulation of new mobility, our colleague Bonnie Fenton had a wide-ranging discussion with three GECKO stakeholders about data and new mobility. Her conversation partners were:

  • Bernd Ivanschitz, a data scientist from Wiener Linien, the public transport provider in Vienna,
  • Laura Eiro, a programme director at ITS Finland with an expertise in Mobility as a Service, and
  • Gregor Petri, an economist and co-founder of a company that provides data analytics for the mobility sector.

In this podcast, among other things, you’ll hear about some important urban-rural differences in new mobility and about how mobility data can be used for keeping cool in the heat of a Barcelona summer.

This is number three is a series of four podcasts looking at various aspects of the regulation of new mobility. Look for number four in early August!
