The CoEXist Kick-off Meeting was held in Versailles, France on 7-9 June 2017.
The CoEXist project started on the right foot with a 3-day fruitful and productive kick-off meeting which took place at the city hall of Versailles, France. This was the first opportunity for everyone in the consortium to get a chance to meet face-to-face. Through the 3-day meeting, each partner presented their methodology on how they plan to achieve the tasks that are to be accomplished within CoEXist. Specifically, a day was spent for discoursing the challenges corresponding with the core tasks for the development of simulation tools and impact assessment tools for connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). Another full day was then spent to present the use cases in our four partner cities (Gothenburg, Helmond, Milton Keynes, Stuttgart), and a general overview on the challenges and impacts of CAVs in cities were further presented by each city. Through a number of rounds of question and answer, the consortium was able to generate new ideas moving forward. Additionally, a couple of parallel workshops were also conducted during the kick-off. One of the highlights of the kick-off meeting, given the good weather conditions, was the picnic lunch at the Château de Versailles. The beauty of the city of Versailles was indeed the right venue to inspire the participants in generating innovative and strategic ideas for the future of urban mobility considering connected and automated vehicles.+49 176 47367054
