SUMP Village, driverless metro and other highlights of SUMP Learning Programme 3

The highly successful SUMP Learning Programme 3 came to an end with its third workshop in Budapest. 24 participants from cities all around Europe discussed sustainable urban mobility planning, with a focus on action planning, monitoring and implementation. As icing on the cake they got the chance to visit the control centre of the driverless metro in the end - and to ride with it of course.

Urban Nodes workshop hosted by the municipality of Venlo, 8th of February 2019

Last week to apply for funded SUMPs learning programme for cities

The CIVITAS SUMPs-Up project has launched a call for cities to take part in its next SUMP Learning Programme (SLP). Up to 25 planning authorities have the chance to join SLP 5, which will start in May 2019. This group of mobility practitioners will complete the Expert Group of 90 SUMP cities. Programme format and content The six-month SLP module combines knowledge transfer, testing and assessment with learning on concepts, approaches, tools, and methodologies for Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) development. The activities blend online and face-to-face learning and exchange. Participants also benefit from one city-to-city review and a one-to-one support session from SUMPs-Up mobility experts. SLP 5 will focus on SUMP implementation, financing and procurement. Activities will include writing and reviewing a SUMP action plan, monitoring and evaluating the impact of measures, procuring services, and identifying new challenges. Who should apply? Trolley 2.0 User Forum kicked-off successfully in Solingen at the 6th international E-bus conference

A diverse set of European public transport operators presented on their plans to upgrade the trolleybus systems in their cities by using the potentials of in-motion charging and battery-equipped trolleybuses. Some operators will also conduct feasibility studies to analyse a reintroduction of trolleybuses in their cities completely from scratch.
