Evaluation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) in Europe

Status

A National Report outlining the implementation of the European Recommendation concerning integrated management of coastal zones in Belgium was submitted to the European Commission on 22 March 2006.

Although the direct reason for the creation of this report was to comply with the request of the European Commission to report on implementation of the Recommendation, it is also intended to be a source of inspiration for the government to optimise its integrated policy for the coast. Furthermore, it is a useful document for all actors involved who wish to acquire better insight into the efforts made so far on the coast and current lines of thinking for the future.
